Back in 2006 (see how long ago that sounds), Jeremy and I enrolled in a Lamaze class. While learning about breathing and relaxation techniques, looking at crazy torture (and potentially lifesaving) tools like forceps, and talking way too much about women's bodies, we bonded with another pregnant couple. There was just something about them. Aside from being pregnant, I think we had almost nothing in common (on the surface at least), but it just made it that much more interesting to listen and learn from them. Over the last two years, we had chatted and e-mailed but after their baby was born, they had moved away and actually hanging out was difficult.
Now, though, Enzo (how's that for a cool name?) and his mom, Marie, are back in the area and just in time for the kids' birthdays. Enzo is first, almost two weeks ahead of Sydney and his party was in at a local park.

Here's the "Happy Birthday" moment. Sydney is actually not eating ice cream, but a maraca.

Sydney is helping Enzo out by looking in the pirate bag. I hope she is as understanding at her party when her friends want to help.

Enzo got a cunning hat, which he wasn't in the mood to model, so Sydney got to.

Before we left, we had to sign the mural. Sydney is working on her two handed drawing technique.
We had such a nice time at Enzo's party, but mostly, we are just excited to have new old friends close by to invite over for evening play dates and whatnot. I predict many more fun outings with Enzo and Marie!
