A Little Vacation

We recently took a short trip to see our friends' new house. It's a beautiful house with many fine features: solid wood floors to stomp around on, a hallway with two doors leading into it from the main room so that you can go in one door and out the other, a cunning mail slot, and a trash drawer...

Really, I think our friends liked the open floor plan, the newly renovated kitchen, and the great location, but these were not the selling points Sydney fell in love with.

While we were in town, we decided to go to the zoo. The last time we took Sydney, she played with leaves instead of looking at animals. I proud to say that she has matured and realizes now that there is more to the zoo than leaves. There are also fences.

This is actually the bird area, but all Sydney wanted to do was stand on the curb and hang on the fence. Then get off the curb and hang on the fence. Then get back on the curb, and well, you get the idea.

But eventually, we did get her to notice a few of the larger animals. Still, I think she thought the fence was better.

The other part of the zoo which she loved was the carousel. The ride was packed and the zoo was noisy, but we could still hear our girl giggling about the crowd every time she went around.

Here's everyone at the zoo.

After the zoo, our friends went back to their house and we went to lunch with some family and then out to putt-putt.

This is me and my cousin. Don't we look cute? We were all set to play two games and even bought the tickets for them, and then after one, we left the men to play and went on a quest for ice tea. I would add that the men played a full 18 hole course in the time it took us to find the ice tea....

  1. It was so much fun to see you guys, and especially to take Sydney to see her Nana. The pic of Sydney at the fence is now my laptop background at work!
