Backyard Plans (Water Table Antics)

I have started pulling things together for the backyard for this summer. Jeremy got a contractor to come out this past week and start the process of getting a fence put in, and I have been talking to the sitter and some other folks about what kinds of things to get to put in the new and improved backyard. One of the things that has me really excited is the idea of doing "centers" in the yard. We have a water table, a sand table, a small slide and swing and are buying some other things to be other centers in the yard. The sitter suggested using water soluble paint and something clothesline-ish on one of the sides of the fence and create a makeshift easel for an art center. If anyone has any other backyard ideas, feel free to share.

So far, though, the only center we really have set up is the water table, which we got out today. What fun! Sydney found one of her spare Easter baskets (which was really a purple bucket painted Easter-y) and proceeded to use everything she could find to fill it up and spill water ALL over herself. : )

Sydney and I also made our first co-produced home movie. We call it "Happy Birthday DUCK." Notice the foreshadowing in the form of the other duck, floating aimlessly in the water, the repeated elements (cups of water being poured), and the improv acting at the end. I think it may be a cult classic in the making.
