After getting back from Houston for our little babymoon, we still had the second half of Spring Break to enjoy. We spent a lot of that time just hanging out with my mother, who came up on Thursday and stayed through Sunday, but we also went to two of Sydney's favorite local attractions: Kiddie Acres and Jungle Java.

Every time we go to Kiddie Acres, there is one ride that Sydney has to do over and over again, but it's always a different one. This time, it was the boats. She rode the carousel twice, the cars, the airplanes, the train, and the ponies once each, and spent her other six tickets on the boats.

I don't think Sydney had been to Jungle Java since her birthday party back in November, so this was a real treat. Added to that, we went first thing on a Saturday morning and were the only ones there and we met up with two of Sydney's favorite people: the Haze and Peter.

Here are Sydney and Peter climbing all around the upper portion of the structure. One of my favorite parts of taking "the Haze" with us is that not only does Kara climb around with the kids, but she takes pictures for me as well!

We had a lot of fun at both Kiddie Acres and Jungle Java. I hope that when Sydney is older, she remembers some of these fun things we do. It's really important to me to make our vacation times full of fun things to do and to not just sit around the house the whole time. Then again, when I asked Sydney if she wanted to go to Jungle Java (which we did on the second to last day of Spring Break, after all of the other fun stuff we had done already), she was sitting with her dad, watching him play a cool new video game and she said, "No, stay home!" in a very emphatic voice. Obviously she enjoyed herself once we got there. But it has me wondering: maybe she's this big homebody and her childhood memory will be that all she ever wanted was to relax at home and all I ever did was drag her to all of these places. Isn't it unfortunate that you can't know these things until well after the fact?
