Today we got adventuresome and actually left the house... to go to the backyard. We put Jack in his bouncer and let Sydney play in her pool. It wasn't "going to SeaWorld" big, but in a way, it was it's own milestone.
A while back, Jeremy and I had this discussion about Sydney drinking the water in her pool. We both had an initial "don't do that" response. I mean, there are leaves and dirt and goodness knows what else floating around in that water by the time she finishes going in and out of the pool a million times. On the other hand, what is probably not in the water is amoebic dysentery causing parasites. So, in the end, we let her drink the water...
...which led to this scene today. This may look like a stick and a boat, but really, it is a juice box with a straw. Yes, that means that she took a stick and put it in her mouth to suck on. She also eats sand and chews on leaves, so really, that's not new. What is new is the total use of imagination to turn an object into a completely different object. And she never would have been able to do it if we had told her not to drink the water.
I love these Pics. and the progession of drinking the water along side of the soaking of Sydney is precious. Oh and Jeremy looks great as well! Everyone seems to be handling the transition of a single Sydney house to a multi sibling home very well!
