Rock'n Valentine's Day

Instead of going out this Valentine's Day, since we had already gone to the theatre and out to eat for lunch (and since the friend Sydney was supposed to go play with while Jeremy and I went out had a stomach bug), we chose to stay in for Valentine's evening.

We invited Sydney's friends Emelia, Abigail, and Sean (and their parents) over for dinner and some "Rock Band." With the trip to see "Sesame Street Live" earlier in the day and friends over in the evening, our extroverted musical girl had pretty much the perfect day.

For the record, Jeremy did not own "Rock Band" prior to Valentine's Day. He decided since we were having guests, he had to go and buy it. Our friends, Donnie and Kristi, actually own "Rock Band" and Kristi said they could bring it, but since her husband had to go buy "Rock Band" himself last May when she needed a fake guitar for a school talent show, I think she understood why it was best that we just pretend their copy was no good.

For her part, Sydney did not care one bit why or how this drum set came to be in our house. She just thinks it's pretty cool. Actually, she thinks she's pretty cool. Actually, I think she's right.

  1. Where did you get the plates that the kids are eating off of?

  2. Target, of course!

They sometimes have them in the dollar spot, and they always seem to have them with the regular plates and everything (for more like three dollars). The ones from the dollar spot all seem to be from the same mold, regardless of the print (so they'll stack in the cupboard) and the ones from the regular section are all the same, but the ones from the dollar section and the regular section are slightly different from each other (they all have the same number of compartments, but the shape is different enough that they don't stack).
