Thanksgiving

We got to go to The Great Aunt Peggy's house for Thanksgiving and what a treat that was! First and foremost, there were so many Nolens there: Aunt Peggy and Uncle David Nolen, Great-Grandma and Great-Grandpa Nolen, Aunt Rachel, Will, and Jamie, as well as Uncle Ken and Jeremy's cousin Jessica and her Jonathan.

What do I love about all of these Nolens?

Hmmm, let's see, first of all, Aunt Peggy, Jessica and Jonathan prepared a fabulous meal, complete with homemade mac n' cheese (courtesy of The Great Aunt Peggy, once Jessica reminded her).

Secondly, when the kids went looking for things to do and found left over dirt, Uncle Ken said, sure they could spread it all around his yard, no problem.

Thirdly, when the dog barked and made Sydney cry, The Great Aunt Peggy armed my daughter with a water gun and taught her how to use it.

Fourth, when Sydney took tumble two of six, Great-Grandma sang her a going-to-sleep song to make her feel all better.

Fifth, being with his family makes Jeremy feel like a kid again (in the best way possible). He, Sydney and Will concocted some elaborate game about witches (hence the wands) and ran about the yard alternatively saying they were all bad witches in cahoots to put all the rest of us in cases (that's a Sydney word for "cages") and then turning into the good witches to protect all of us Muggles from all that case-putting-in. Happily, though, either way, the case in question was The Great Aunt Peggy's poop deck, where we all were sitting and chatting.

And last, but not least, I love, love, love seeing my kids with their great grandparents.

So much to be thankful for!
