Well Check

We had Sydney's four year check up today. She weighs 40 pounds and is 42 inches tall. Her vision is good -- 20/30 (which is apparently typical for the age) and she can hear as soft as 20 decibels (which means that if she's not taking in what we're saying to her, it's not a hearing problem).

She was brave and bold during the five shots, cried loudly, and then recovered quickly with the promise of a popsicle.

  1. Crap. They get FIVE shots when they're four? Way to go on getting through that, Sydney!

  2. Only if you ask for a flu vaccine at the same time. Yours would only have four since they don't have well checks at the start of cold/flu season and aren't in day care and so may not need a flu shot at all.

  4. No, they get the flu shot every year. We seem to be able to get the worst bugs that go around somehow, even though Pip hardly ever licks tables in restaurants. I can only imagine he has croup right now because he puts his hand in his mouth after going down a slide after a croupy kid. But we'll have a separate appointment for our flu vaccines, I suppose. But four shots at one time is still a lot!
